Best Practices: Start the School Year Strong!
A new school year offers the opportunity for a fresh start and renewed enthusiasm. With this in mind, our team shares some ideas below to start the school year strong. Taking the time to “Get to Know” your students in the beginning of the school year has significant positive impacts for both the student and you! Some of those positive impacts include Improved academic performance, enhanced classroom behavior, students feel more valued, better tailored instruction, stronger classroom community, and improved teacher effectiveness.
Use Base to start building these relationships!
Walk through the Welcome Module together. May sure to share your “WHY” for having students complete Base modules. Build off the examples given in the Welcome module. The Getting to Know You module allows educators to learn more about their students. Use the Educator guide to facilitate class discussions and allow time for students to work introspectively.

7 Mindsets Educators Group on Facebook
The 7 Mindsets Educators Group is a forum for teachers and administrators to share how their schools have incorporated 7 Mindsets into their school culture and community. While originally created for educators implementing the 7 Mindsets curriculum, the group welcomes educators implementing any of 7 Mindsets’ solutions, including Base and Insights.
Moderated by 7 Mindsets’ Education Services team members, the group serves two purposes: providing ideas, provides inspiration, and shares implementation success stories and offering educators self-care suggestions, wellness reminders, and uplifting stories. Members are encouraged to post stories, photos, ideas, and questions to help each other maximize the impact of 7 Mindsets’ programs. #WeAreConnected
